FAQ

Common questions about setting up Caster X with Server Room streaming services.

Where do I find my Server Room streaming address, port and password?

Your streaming address, port, and password are available in your Server Room account dashboard and in your Server Room setup email.

Should I select SHOUTcast or Icecast?

Select the server type that matches your Server Room plan. Most Server Room radio plans use SHOUTcast. If you have an Icecast plan, select Icecast and enter your mount point.

Is the MetaData tab required?

No, the MetaData tab is optional. However, filling in your station name, genre, and website is recommended as it helps listeners find your station in public radio directories.

Why does Caster X fail to connect?

Verify your streaming address, port, and password are entered exactly as shown in your Server Room dashboard. Make sure your Server Room radio service is active and no firewall is blocking the streaming port. Contact our support team via live chat if the issue persists.

Do I need an active Server Room plan to stream?

Yes. You need an active Server Room radio streaming plan to obtain the server credentials used in this tutorial. Visit our Radio Streaming page to view available plans.
