FAQ

Common questions about configuring xSplit Broadcaster for live streaming with Server Room.

Where do I find my Server Room RTMP URL and credentials?

Your RTMP URL, stream name, username, and password are available in your Server Room account dashboard and in your Server Room welcome email.

What format should the RTMP URL be in?

The URL format is rtmp://address.srfms.com:port/live. Replace address.srfms.com with your actual stream address and port with your assigned port number, both provided in your Server Room dashboard.

What stream name should I use?

The default stream name is livestream, but you can use any name you choose. If your Server Room account supports multiple simultaneous streams, each stream must use a different name.

What video bitrate should I use?

Use 2500–4000 kbps for 720p and 4000–6000 kbps for 1080p. Your total bitrate (video + audio) must stay within your available internet upload speed.

Why does xSplit fail to connect?

Verify your RTMP URL, stream name, and credentials are entered correctly. Make sure your Server Room video service is active and no firewall is blocking RTMP port 1935. Contact our support team via live chat if the issue persists.
